1. e-Cert (Personal) certificate
1.1 Extension of Subscription Period (applicable to e-Cert (Personal) only)
- The e-Cert (Personal) is physically valid for three years and its subscription period is one year. Subscribers may choose to pay the annual subscription fee in order to extend the subscription period. At present, the annual subscription fee for e-Cert is HK$48. If a Subscriber does not continue the subscription after the expiry of the subscription period, Hongkong Post will inactivate the e-Cert by suspension or revocation. According to the Electronic Transactions Ordinance, the inactivated certificates will be included in the Certificate Revocation List (CRL) published on Hongkong Post web site. To know more about the methods of extending the subscription period, please refer to Table 1.
e-Cert (Personal)
- The validity period of e-Cert (Personal) is three years. Subscribers may renew their certificates before the expiry of the three-year validity period of the e-Cert (usually within 3 weeks' time before the expiry of the certificate). The renewal fee for the first year subscription period of the renewed e-Cert is HK$48. The renewed e-Cert will be stored in the e-Cert storage medium selected by the Subscriber and will be sent to the Subscriber through registered mail after completion of the renewal application. e-Cert (Personal) with "Mutual Recognition" Status
- The validity period of e-Cert (Personal) with "Mutual Recognition" Status is 1 year, 2 years or 3 years according to applications. Subscribers may renew their certificates before the expiry of the validity period of the e-Cert (usually within 3 weeks' time before the expiry of the certificate).
- Subscribers using e-Cert Token (SafeNet) can download New / Renewal Application Form for e-Cert (Personal) with "Mutual Recognition" Status Certificate (e-Cert Token (SafeNet)) (CPos 798AMR-S) (PDF Format).
- Subscribers using e-Cert Token (FEITIAN) can download New / Renewal Application Form for e-Cert (Personal) with "Mutual Recognition" Status Certificate (e-Cert Token (FEITIAN)) (CPos 798AMR-F) (PDF Format).

2. e-Cert (Organisational) certificate
- The Authorised Representative ("AR") of the organisation can download the renewal application form
- e-Cert (Organisational) Renewal Form (CPos 792G)
- e-Cert (Organisational) Renewal Form (CPos 792G) and Supplementary Application Form for e-Cert (Organisational) with AEOI Functions (CPos 798FA)
- e-Cert (Organisational) with "Mutual Recognition" Status Renewal Form (CPos 798FMR)
and then submit the completed forms with the required documents and appropriate renewal application fees in person to any post office.
3. e-Cert (Encipherment) certificate
- The Authorised Representative ("AR") of the organisation can download e-Cert (Encipherment) Renewal Application Form (CPos 792E) (PDF Format) and submit the completed forms with the required documents and appropriate renewal fees in person to any post office.
4. e-Cert (Server) certificate
- Extended Validation e-Cert (Server) and Extended Validation e-Cert (Server) with "Multi-domain" feature are available for application. For details, please refer to the relevant announcement.
- e-Cert (Server) with "Wildcard" feature and e-Cert (Server) with "Multi-domain" feature are available for application. For details, please refer to the relevant announcement.
- The Authorised Representative
("AR") of the organisation can download
e-Cert (Server) Renewal Application Form (CPos 792S)
(PDF Format) and submit the completed forms
with the required documents and appropriate
renewal fees in person to any post office.
For renewal application of Extended Validation e-Cert (Server) and Extended Validation e-Cert (Server) with "Multi-domain" feature, if the applicant organisation with Business Registration Certificate only, please also download Supplementary Application Form for Hongkong Post Extended Validation e-Cert (Server) (CPos 798FEV) (PDF Format) and submit the completed forms with required documents.
- After receipt and approval
of renewal, Hongkong Post will send a Certificate
Signing Request ("CSR") email to request
AR to generate the CSR from the server concerned
and upload it to Hongkong Post for further process
of application.

5. e-Cert (Organisational Role) certificate
- Currently, e-Cert (Organisational Role) certificates are offered to the Subscriber Organisation(s) as listed in the following table. The corresponding Registration Authority will notify Subscriber to renew their certificates prior to the expiry of the certificates' validity period.

6. Bank-Cert (Personal) certificate
- The Registration Bank will notify the Subscriber to renew their certificates prior to the expiry of the certificates' validly period

7. Bank-Cert (Corporate) certificate
- The Registration Bank will notify the Subscriber to renew their certificates prior to the expiry of the certificates' validly period

8. Bank-Cert (Bank) certificate
- The Authorised Representative of the Licensed Bank can download the Application Form (CPos 798FB) and then submit the completed forms with the required documents (PDF Format) and appropriate application fees in person to HKPCA.
9. g-Cert (Individual) certificate
- The Bureau/Department/Office of the Government of Hong Kong SAR ("B/D/O") will notify Subscriber to renew their certificates prior to the expiry of the certificates' validity period.

10. g-Cert (Functional Unit) certificate
- The Bureau/Department/Office of the Government of Hong Kong SAR ("B/D/O") will notify Subscriber to renew their certificates prior to the expiry of the certificates' validity period.

11. iAM Smart-Cert certificate
- "iAM Smart" system will notify Subscriber to renew their certificates prior to the expiry of the certificates' validity period.
