Hongkong Post e-Cert (Organisational) with "Mutual Recognition" Status

The e-Cert (Organizational) with "Mutual Recognition" Status participate in the mutual recognition schemenote1 under the Arrangement for Mutual Recognition of Electronic Signature Certificates issued by Hong Kong and Guangdong. The e-Cert (Organizational) with "Mutual Recognition" Status are trusted by Adobe® for signing PDF documents. e-Cert (Organizational) with "Mutual Recognition" Status may be issued with validity period of 1 year, 2 years or 3 years and only can be issued to persons aged 18 or above.

Two types of e-Cert Token are available from Hongkong Post Certification Authority for e-Cert (Organisational) with "Mutual Recognition" Status applicants Note 2:

  1. e-Cert Token (SafeNet) or
  2. e-Cert Token (FEITIAN)

Note 1: Hongkong Post has designated the e-Cert (Organisational) with "Mutual Recognition" Status to participate in the mutual recognition scheme under the Arrangement for Mutual Recognition of Electronic Signature Certificates issued by Hong Kong and Guangdong. For the specific certificate types with mutual recognition status and the verification method of these certificate types, please refer to the official trust list published by the Economic and Information Commission of Guangdong Province (http://gdii.gd.gov.cn/list/content/post_949021.html) to confirm whether the certificate types have valid mutual recognition status and their validity period. A copy of the entries is also maintained in the trust list of the DPO for reference.

Note 2: Please note that some of the online services currently accepting e-Cert (Organisational) with "Mutual Recognition" Status can only support one type of e-Cert Token. Therefore, before applying for e-Cert (Organisational) with "Mutual Recognition" Status, Subscribers need to check with the online service provider which type of e-Cert Token is supported by the online service that accepts e-Cert (Organisational) with "Mutual Recognition" Status.

Currently, the details of online services that only accept one of the e-Cert Tokens are listed as follows:

The Authorised Representative of the organisation can download the e-Cert (Organisational) with "Mutual Recognition" Status (e-Cert Token (SafeNet)) Application Form (CPos 798FMR-S). The completed form, together with the original Hong Kong ID card and the required application fee shall be submitted in person at any post office.
